Roxie Has Been Tagged!

Thrawn of Five Happy Hounds tagged Roxie to answer some questions.

Where is your favorite place to sleep?
On the end of the sofa.

Is there a specific trick your humans make you do to get treats?
Mom started off training me to sit and stay and I would get treats for that but I don't have anything I can do to get a treat if I want one. I do get a treat when I go to the daytime play area when Mom is leaving for work and when I go into my crate at night.

If you could spend an entire day doing anything at all with anyone what would you do and with whom?
I would sit in the sun with Mom. I love to sunbathe and I love to be with Mom.

What is your favorite toy?
I really don't play with toys too much once the squeaker has been removed. If it is a squeaky toy, though, it is my favorite.

If you could change one thing in your life, what would you change?
I would have the new house be built already and live in the country now. I know it will happen in a year or so but it will be so great, I want it now and I'm not very patient (and I don't want to change that).

New Year's Resolution Tag

We have been tagged by Texas and the Airechicks to tell you our 5 New Year's resolutions.

Roxie:
1. I resolve to be the prettiest of Mom's three dachshunds. (This is so easy.)
2. I resolve to be more spoiled than I already am. (This could be a little more difficult.)
3. I resolve to share with my brothers (if I must).
4. I resolve to take my medicine with only 5 minutes of argument.
5. I resolve to learn to like baths. (Sure, and Mom is going to get younger!)

Andy:
1. I resolve to be the cutest of Mom's three dachshunds.
2. I resolve to play with toys a little longer before I rip them up.
3. I resolve to stop barking at the first sign of daylight and waking up Mom.
4. I resolve to pee in the house less.
5. I resolve to leave Red Bear alone and not rip him up since he is Sammy's favorite toy.

Sammy:
1. I resolve to be the handsomest of Mom's three dachshunds.
2. I resolve to pee in the house a little less.
3. I resolve to bark a little less even though those noises deserve to be barked at and I'm only protecting the house and barking is one of the things I do best so why should I do less of it just because some people think it is loud and annoying and they don't really know anything.
4. I resolve to keep an eye on Red Bear.
5. I resolve to show Mom how glad I am that she adopted me and I have had such a good home for the last 2 1/2 years and I'm so glad I get to stay with her each day.

We aren't going to tag anyone right now. We aren't sure who has been tagged and Mom needs to get to work so she doesn't have time to look. We also are NOT going to open tag anyone that comes to our blog. We want Bob-kat to feel safe coming to visit doggies -- at least virtually visiting doggies.

We've Been Tagged by Hana

We have been tagged by Hana to tell what makes us a good doggie friend.

1. We remember everybody and everydoggie we have met and are always willing to welcome them back with lots of dachsies kisses and tail wags. (OK, maybe not everydoggie but most of them!)

2. We work very hard to protect Mom and her visitors from anyone or anything (like squirrels or possums) that might try to get to them and hurt them.

3. We think about all of our different blogging friends and worry about them when we hear that there is bad weather or some other problem where they live.

4. We try very hard to keep up with all of our blogging friends even though we sometimes are busy following Mom to make sure she doesn't do anything we don't know about.

5. We bring lots of love to our Mom and make her house a home instead of a building with stuff in it.

We hope we defined doggie friend the right way. If not, these are just five things about us that you should find extremely interesting because everything about us is extremely interesting!

We have to go see who has been tagged and who hasn't before we tag anybody. We will keep you posted!

Tagged for Our Stories

Flossy has tagged us to tell how we came to live with Mom in our fur-ever home. We told our stories in our July 17th entry. Since we did a pretty good job of telling that time, just click on the words "our stories" and you can read all about how we found Mom.

We will have to come back later today and add to our entry. We just posted last night. All we have done is sleep, pee and poop. We haven't even had breakfast yet! Not much excitement in any of that!

Thanks for tagging us Flossy. We like for people to know how we found Mom. If enough people read how Sammy and Andy came from rescue, maybe they will consider a rescue dog next time.

Tagged Thrice

Peanut and Daisy Mae of Beagledom have tagged us so we are going to be good sports and tell you five weird things about Sammy.

1. Sammy hates to ride in the car.

2. Sammy likes to sit next to humans and just barely touch them with his nose ... which Mom says is the coldest nose she has ever felt! And he doesn't do it just once but over and over and over again.

3. Sammy eats every meal like he hasn't been fed in days. Mom puts his bowl down last and he is always first to finish.

4. Sammy's tail has a curve in it. All the other dachsies have straight tails but his is curved all the time

5. Mom calls Sammy ... Samwell Barkamaus ... because he barks when he is surprised, when he hears a noise, when he is playing, when someone shows up to visit, when a helicopter flies over the house, when there is thunder, when dogs bark on the TV, when he sees a bird, when he sees a squirrel, when he wants a treat and sometimes even in his sleep when he is dreaming! (The Samwell part is because Mom is silly; she decided "Samuel" was not distinctive enough for her boy.)

We will not be a mystery to anyone after all this tagging and telling. But it is fun to think up things to tell you about us.

Tagged Again!

Roxie here. I've been tagged by my girlpal Mary-Margaret. I will tell you 5 weird things about myself but I don't think I will tag anyone else. I hope no one minds.

5 Weird things about Roxie

1. When I am laying down, I put my legs out to the side and behind me so my tummy is flat on the ground. Mom says she can vaguely remember when she was that limber!

2. I can push up against my Mom or my brothers but if anyone does it to me, I grrrrrowl. I shouldn't have to put up with that foolishness!

3. If you put ice in my water bowl or something "strange" in my food bowl, I will very carefully take it out and put it on the floor next to the bowl. Mom gave me some blueberries once and when I was finished eating, there was a little pile of blueberries next to my bowl.

4. Mom has to hide pills in a spoonful of canned food or I won't take them. If she puts it down my throat, we have a battle of wills for about 5 minutes as I keep spitting it out. If she puts it in my bowl, I just pick it out. Fortunately, I am pretty healthy.

5. I have a very cream colored undercoat so I look lighter red than most red dachshunds. My coat has darkened as I have gotten older, but it is still pretty light as you get away from my back.

6. (One extra because I am special) I was born on Christmas day and Mom thought about naming me Noelle or Holly but she really wanted her girl dog to be named Roxie -- now she calls me Roxie, the foxy dachsie!

I'm sure those were much more interesting than stuff about my brothers! They are just silly, icky boys.

Tag, You Are IT!

We were tagged by Copper.

The player of this game starts with "5 weird things/habits about yourself." Then you tag 5 friends and list their names. The furries who get tagged need to write on their blogs about their 5 weird things/habits, as well as state this rule clearly, then tag 5 more victims. Don't forget to leave your victim a comment that says "you're tagged!" in their comments and tell them to read your blog.

5 Weird Things About Me (Us)

1. We like to get up around 6:00 each morning and go outside for business. When we come back inside, we run to Mom's bed and jump in to wait for her. We lay all around her. We aren't touching each other - only her.

2. We each have a different bark. Roxie's is a soft girlie bark. Sammy's is a regular bark. Andy's is a big bark that makes him sound like he should be taller than 9 or 10 inches and weigh more than 18 pounds.

3. Sammy doesn't mind getting ear drops in his ears. He complained in a entry but he goes to Mom and sits there quietly while she puts them in and rubs his ears.

4. We boys pee in the house if Mom isn't looking. (Buy stock in the company that makes Simple Solution; Mom alone will drive the price of the stock up.)

5. We don't know that we are littler than everyone else. If all we see are big dogs, we assume we are big too.

We tag Zach, Cairo, Cubby, Ender and Charlie - the blue heeler cross.
