Bad Doggie!

Hello everydog, cat and Fufu,

Andy here.

Boy was I in trouble last night. It was raining and thundering most of the evening. It started coming down really hard near Mom's office about 15 minutes before she usually leaves to come home. Since she could see all the cars just stopped because some of the roads had deep water on them, she decided to stay at the office a little longer. She finally got home about an hour and half later than normal.

Anyway, we went outside and did our business. We came back in and had dinner. We laid on the sofa with Mom while she watched a little television and then we went outside before it was time to go to bed.

Mom leaves us out for a while when it is wet outside because she knows we will eventual do what we need to do. So after about 5 minutes or so, she opens the back door. In runs Sammy. She looks outside but she doesn't see Roxie or me so she closes the door and puts Sammy in his crate. She comes back to the back door and opens it so Roxie can come running inside. Roxie goes into her crate. Mom comes back to the back door and starts whistling and calling for me but I don't come.

And I don't come.

And I don't come.

Mom is starting to get a little worried that maybe I got hurt and can't come when she calls so she gets her flashlight (torch for some of you folks) and goes out into the soggy, "water standing everywhere because it hasn't drained off yet" back yard. Fortunately it wasn't raining anymore! She is in sandals so her feet are getting all wet. She goes over to the magnolia trees and shines the light through the limbs but it is so dark she can't really see anything. She wades back behind the garage where the water is standing one or two inches deep, shining the flashlight all over the place. She looks under the magnolia trees again. Mom is really getting worried now. She decides she needs a better flashlight so she can see under the tree and heads for the house. About that time she hears some tags jingling behind her from under the tree and I decided to poke my head out. If she hadn't been so worried that I was hurt or something, I would have been in real trouble. Instead she was just glad to see me and I was okay and now we could all go to bed ... after she dried off her feet.

The moral of this story is: If you aren't going to be good and come when they call, wait until they are over being mad and are worried before you do finally show up. But be careful. Sometimes she closes the door and doesn't come back for a long, long time. By then you are really ready to come back in!

Andy,
Thanks for the advice. I will keep that in mind if I ever go off and don't come when called. Though it is a little harder for me to hide then for you. I'm glad you weren't hurt though even I got worried about you reading your post.

Hi Andy
Nasty weather. I hate rain, and thunder, and all those things. I try not to go out when it's raining, and if I do, I don't do anything.

So that fixes everyone - we all go back home. Hehe. Pippa.

PS Forgot to say that we all go out together and I am on my lead so everyone gets wet. I don't think you are a bad doggie though - just one hiding from the rain.

Hi Andy...
Whew...glad you were ok and glad you didn't get in any trouble. You just probably needed to stretch your legs and get some fresh air after being in the house all day while your mom was at work.

But you probably shouldn't do that again ;) lots of licks, Ruby
