Happy November 1st!

Hello to all of our friends! Did you have a fun Halloween? We hope your costumes were better than ours. Mom had planned to make us mustard, ketchup and relish (you know, the things you put on your "hot dogs") but she was too lazy ... oh, we mean too BUSY ... to go to the fabric store and buy the material. Instead, Aunt Bec gave us each a bandana and we went as cowdogs. It seems lots of dachsie owned humans have bandanas because we saw lots of them at the Dachshund Rescue of Houston Halloweiner party. We went to the party last Sunday. Mom took some pictures but she hasn't had a chance to look at them yet. Hopefully we will find some good ones and get them posted next time.

Mom is still home with us this morning. Yesterday morning when she was cleaning up the kitchen, she noticed the sink was draining slowly. The last time that happened, she tried for a couple of weeks to clear it out herself without any luck. The biggest problem was the washing machine is on the same drain line so she couldn't do any laundry without flooding the utility room. She finally called a plumber and he cleared it in 15 minutes or less. This time she didn't wait two weeks to call him. She called yesterday and he is coming this morning. So, we are sitting around waiting for the plumber. But the good side is we are finding time to post an entry!

We really miss everyone when we don't have time to post. We love all of the comments we get. Mom will take time to read other blogs and leave comments but she says she needs to be inspired to help us make blog entries. (Yeah, right, just how "inspired" is this entry so far??)

Everyone is talking about their weather. Chicote and Zach have snow while Opy and Charlie are heading into summer. It has been gorgeous weather here! We go outside and run and bark and bark and run. We love it but Mom says the neighbors don't. How can you not love it?? Oh, Mom says it's not the weather the neighbors don't like, it's the barking. Hey, can we help it if we have a zest for life?

We have started the countdown for going to the country house! We leave on the 17th and will stay for the whole weekend. That means we will be there in 16 1/2 days. Then we can run and bark and bark and run and the only neighbors will be those big cowdogs that say "moo" instead of "woof".

It has been forever since we were out there. Football season really messes up the schedule. Mom's brother and his wife stay there for "home" football games and Mom won't go for "away" games if the game is going to be shown on cable tv since there isn't any cable tv out there. She says she doesn't go out there to watch tv anyway. She goes for the "escape", whatever that means. Mom says we can post one of her country pictures so you can see the natural look of the area.

Hmmm!

Unfortunately, Blogger says we can't post one of her pictures. GRRRRRR! Now we remember why Mom wasn't pushing to make a new entry. Everyone has been complaining about Blogger and now we know why!

We are running out of things to say anyway and Mom wants to get this posted (paws crossed for good luck) before the plumber gets here. We will check out those party pictures and hopefully get to post some soon.

I get scolded for barking, too.Or get the penny can shook at me- that always shuts me up, I hate the sound of it.

It's hard to think of interesting things to blog about, isn't it? I pretty much do the same stuff every day and who wants to hear about that? Maybe we should start making interesting things up to blog about. We could have like a Liars' Club. See who can tell the biggest whopper each day? Maybe instead of calling ourselves liars, we could call it creative writing?

Blogger doesn't like our pix, either. We started a free Flickr account as a back-up... now it's our main-stay!
We don't bark, so you guys are making up for us. Seriously, you can fill our barking void. It's only fair!
