SATURDAY AFTERNOON

Hi friends,

Mona here. Mary is getting ready to meet her Dad and they are going to the Texas A & M football game so the Mommy is gonna doggie sit Roxie, Sammy & Andy.....and I'm gonna help. It is so hot here so we are in the house, napping while the Mommy tells ya about what we saw yesterday and did this morning.

Yesterday as we was driving down Peyton road to get to the house we saw COWDOGS!!! Lots and lots of really big cowdogs and not a baby cowdog in sight. There was a humongous bull in the middle of the road in front of us but pretty far away but not so far that we didn't see him stamping the ground with his foot. Thank goodness we didn't have to go down that road anymore and turned right onto the cemetery road that leads to the house.

WOW!! That's when I saw them!! They was everywhere!!! There was a big solid white cowdog almost as tall as the fence around the cemetery. He was trying to poke is nose through the wiring on the fence....even I could see he wasn't having any luck. I didn't bark at him cause he was pretty far from the car & was ignoring us. Then a big black cowdog was standing on the left side of the road and was close enough for me to start growling at him. Then I looked across the field and there was a bunch more just eating grass and not paying any attention to my barking. My head was whipping back & forth from one side of the car to the other barking and growling at them.....of course I was safely laying on the Mommy's leg digging my toenails into her leg. There were no fences between us & the cowdogs until we got the the house. Then before you get to the yard in front of the house there is an outer yard with a fence gate that stays closed so them cowdogs don't come in & do their business.....them cowdog's business is lots bigger than ours.....them things are called COW PADDIES...heehee!! The humans don't like stepping in cow poopie. But before we got to the yard there was a big Mama cowdog standing in the middle of the road and I guess she thought she had the right of way cause she wouldn't get off the road. A perfect opportunity to take some cowdog pictures up front and personal........BUT NOOOO!! The camera was in the suitcase. What a Doofuss the Mommy is, why wouldn't you have the camera with ya? The Mommy promised me she'd take some cowdog pictures before we leave......hope springs eternal!! Well she finally did move and when we got into the yard, it took all of 2 seconds to jump out of the car and starting barking & playing with my friends. It was kinda cool, it was after 6:30 pm, so the Mommies stayed outside sitting and talking on the porch until it started getting dark and then they forced us to come inside cause after dark is when the copperheads come out hunting for food.

This morning the Mommies got up early and let us out. The sat on the front porch talking some more.....what is it about those old wooden rockers & that front porch, that makes them sit out there all the time. So us doggies sniffed around the yard, barked, played and barked some more until it was time for breakfast. No bacon & eggs for us though.

Nothing much happening around here this afternoon except them Doofusses sitting around chit chatting again but this time on the back patio. Of course us doggies was sniffing all around the yard, barking, playing and barking some more. The only excitement was listening to Sammy trying to catch something under the porch. He was so stubborn and stayed under there forever.
Probably just another mouse, which he did not catch.

So that's it for today. The Mommy is just gonna catchup on her blog reading, play with us, read some and maybe watch a little TV until Mary gets back home. I have one more thing to say......
just as Mary was leaving, we was all standing at the inner gate and what did the Mommy see? A big white cow walking across the pasture toward the pond.....and where was the camera? Still in the suitcase........What a Doofuss!!

Love, kisses & (((huggies)))...........Mona, Roxie, Sammy and Andy too!!
