Hunting and Healing

It has been absolutely beautiful the last few days. It has been a little windy but other than that the sun has been shining and we have been sniffing around. We were in the back yard and checked out some of the logs laying around.

Mom was brave and didn't chase us away from the logs. She thought about it but figured if a snake was there, he would have a chance to get away from us.

We moved on to another part of the yard.

But Andy got a little side-tracked. We weren't sure what he found to sniff but ...

before you knew it, he was roaching! Doesn't that look like a fun thing to do on a sun-shiny day?

Sammy thought it looked so good he joined in!

And he roached some more!

Roxie didn't roach because she is so delicate. Maybe one of these days Mom can catch Roxie enjoying a good roll in the grass!

Hey, do you remember how Sammy looked right after the snake bit him? You can really see the bite next to his right eye.

Well, this is how he looks now! He still needs to heal a little bit more but he sure looks a lot better!

It's a lot easier to heal when you have friends sending prayers and good thoughts and "Sibe Vibes"! As you can tell, we are back to enjoying the good life!

Hi my bestest friends,

You look so happy playing & roaching in the sun. The Mommy just loves the pictures of you boys roaching with your legs all up in th air.

Roxie -- I loooove roaching, Next time we come visit, maybe you and me could go roach together--You'd like it and i could teach you -- I'm delicate too but I like to get down & dirty.

Hugs and kisses to everybody...Mona & the Mommy too!!

Dachsies!

Sounds like you're all having a nice day over there... What did you find to roach in? A dead bug? I find that dead beetles and ants make really nice perfume...

Sammy, I'm so glad your snake bite is healing up nicely!

Our Mom liked to flipped when she saw you messing near the logs. She just KNEW you were going to find a snake! My mom said your mom is a lot braver than she is.

So that's what roaching is...personally I don't do it myself but Macon roaches all the time on the carpet. She's not much of an outside roacher. Mom would probably have a stroke!

Glad to hear the snake bite victims are doing better. It's been so hot here in Illinois that we just go outside long enough to take care of business and back to our A/C and cool beanbags. This morning some utility person had the NERVE to knock on our door and I had to go and protect the door until Dad got there. I was still protesting while Dad was trying to talk to the person so Mom had to come and grab me.

I hate when she does that...she makes me look like a wimp!

Dachsie hugs,

Shania and Macon

Yeah, a good roll in the grass looks great on a summers day. My cat just likes to stretch adn sleep in it.

That was a close call with sammys eye! Glad he is feeling much better.
