Visitors, Visitors and More Visitors

Wow! What a great weekend we have had!

First Aunt Bec, Maggie and Jake came to visit for the whole weekend. Aunt Bec even got here before Mom got home from work so we got to play with everybody first!! We ran all around the yard and barked and barked. When Mom got home, we barked and barked and ran some more.

On Saturday, we did some more barking and running. After that we did some running and barking. After all of that excitement, we took a nap. We were ready to go running and barking some more but Mom and Aunt Bec loaded us up into the car and took us to town. It turned they thought our nails were too long and we went to get them trimmed. The lady who cut our nails said we were all very nice for dachshunds. She said most dachsies fight with her and we just sat there waiting for her to finish. Because we were so good, Aunt Bec bought some of the home-made doggie treats that were for sale. And guess what we did when we got back to the house! Can you guess? We ran and barked!

On Sunday, we got a great big surprise! Mona and the Mommy came to visit us! We haven't seen Mona since her birthday party. It was nice to see her again and her mommy pets all us and says nice things about us. They came to see us because they were worried about us after the incident with the snake. Now they know we really are okay. Mona's mommy took lots and lots of pictures and is posting them on their blog.

We had such a good time, we want to invite them to come visit again. Mom says they can come for a longer visit once we get our house built!

On Monday, even though it was a holiday in the US, Mom went to work for a couple of hours. Aunt Bec stayed here with us so we got to go outside and ... run and bark!! Mom wasn't gone very long and we were really happy when she came home. We were so happy, we ran over to the front gate and barked!

Unfortunately, the fun came to an end when Aunt Bec, Maggie and Jake had to go home. Aunt Bec has to go the work tomorrow and she says it is too far to drive from here. After they left, we settled in for a nap. It was a lot of work to keep running and barking all of the time!

Sounds like a great weekend. Mona sent me a message about it so I am just putting something up on DWB News now.

That's our favorite thing to do too: run and bark and bark and run. Mostly we do it inside, running like fools from the front door to the back through the center of our townhouse whenever we hear a noise outside.

We'll check out the photos on Mona's blog. Glad you're all recovered from your snake adventure!!

Running and barking is great exercise and totally necessary for patrolling your house. We do most of our running and barking inside but let a strange person(be it animal or hooman) be out when we go out to take care of business and I throw on my Napoleon complex and run over to them. All of our apartment neighbors know I am more bark than bite(I have few teeth left) but they get the message and I'm proud I did my part to chase away the rifraf! I told all our dachsie relatives and friends about your snake encounter and to watch out! Mom had to work yesterday, too, so we mainly slept and kept alert for any potential strangers. We have learned to climb on top of our beanbags and look out the window and if we see anyone/anything moving in our neighborhood, we bark at them, too. We don't know Mona so we can't go and look at the pics. Have a good week!

Dachsie hugs,

Shania and Macon

I haven't been able to check blogs lately. I'm glad you guys are doing okay. Snakes are very bad and scary. That's so cool that Mona and the Mommy came to visit you! I wonder if I could convince them to come visit me, too!!

Mona and the Mommy stopped by our blog to let us know about your visit - that's so COOL!
Which do you like better, running and barking or barking and running?
