And here is what Mom was doing to the pill.
Fortunately for us, Mom listened to suggestions and last night and this morning we got our pills inside a dollop of peanut butter! We liked that! We even helped Mom clean the rest of the peanut butter off of her fingers. We could tell she was considering it. The problem was Mom really hates to feed us people food. She thinks if we start to expect people food, we will be bothering her when she is trying to eat. We hardly ever bother her when she is eating but we might reconsider if she is eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich! The peanut butter is OURS!!

Oh, goodie! You are getting peanut butter in your pills. Makes the pill taking a little easier to put up with. Linda feels the same way about dogs begging at dinnertime, so she only gives me human food in my bowl, never out of her hand or off her plate. She mixes the people food with my kibble and feeds me when they are eating.

Well, me and Chani are big beggars - just not at dinnertime. Dad shares snacks with us so we sit at his feet and watch him eat his snacks. Drives Mom crazy. Since Chani has been on a diet he doesn't share anymore but we watch anyway. Mom says it's very bad manners but hey, we're dogs, he has food, he might drop some ... what else is there in life?
my mommy tries that with pills too..but have such a super doggy sense that it didnt work...aparently she found another way..but i dont know......hmmm.
Score! Peanut butter is delicious! The moms' last boxer started finding the pill and mom didn't know it until she found a little pile of pink Benadryls under the edge of the couch!
Ok, where did humans get the idea that all the good stuff is "people food"? I don't think so.
That's like saying that beef and venison is "dog food." Or like saying Guinness is just for humans. Can you imagine someone thinking THAT?! Hahaahaahahahahahhhahahahahahh (cough, wheeeeze, sputter) ahah ahh . . . mmmmmmmm. I have to take a nap now, bye.

i think cal is rite! we shud take over the peepol food and call it all dog food! peanut butter is definately dog food. and so is sour cream. and butter.

You know what...even MICE like peanut butter. Yep they do.
My da has caught six mice using roasted peanut butter on the traps...but he and my ma are so into not killing anything that he's rigged it so that the mousetrap trips and the mouse just gets caught (alive and unhurt) under a bowl. Then he picks it up by the tail and takes it outside.
Ooooh I'd love to have a chew of those mousies.
Actually a chew on the peanut butter would be just fine.
Anyway, glad you guys are gettin' medicine in gourmet style.
