Special Days

We realized a couple of important days went by without our acknowledging them!

First, Monday Nov 10 was the US Marine Corps 233rd birthday! Mom spent many years of her life as a part of the Marine Corps. She wasn't actually a Marine but large portions of her life were dictated by the Corps. She may have moved on from that life but she still has a special place for all who serve, especially the Marines. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARINES!

Which leads us to the second important day. Yesterday, Tuesday Nov 11 was Veterans' Day in the US. It is a day to honor all of those who have served or currently serve in one of the military branches. So many people hold the military in disdain but the people who serve are just like everyone else ... except that they are willing to go into harm's way to protect us from those who would hurt us or take away our way of life and freedoms -- and we aren't just talking about the US servicemen and women because all servicepeople make the same sacrifices. THANK YOU! The words aren't enough but they are all we have.

Of course both of these days and all of the rest of the days are Love Your Doggie Day. We have to remind Mom because sometimes she only loves on us for a couple of hours a day when we know there are more hours for her to shower us with the adoration which we deserve.

Maybe next time the lazy secretary will add some pictures. We have lots of pictures because she will use the camera but she won't add entries to our blog unless we give her the Dachsie Look!

Take care and have a great day. And thank you to all of our friends who have hung around waiting for us to encourage her to make entries!
